Like my father before me I’m totally annoyed to find that the children messed up the jukebox. Was trying to break the cycle of kid related jukebox maintenance. Dad’s gone now so only my sister and I know how to hotwire it.
the amp is transistor. those glow tubes are a working 55 year old binary computer. This was a caddillac in its day. (it does have some personality, but it’s doing very well compared to all the other 1962 computers I’ve dealt with. I’m taking the opportunity to remove the eagles in honour of the Dude. (replacing them with Creedence)

This is way better than the usually day-to-day Juke posts. Thank you!

Very cool - if you ever need replacements for those tubes, let me know as I have hundreds upon hundred of old-stock tubes, probably including appropriate replacements for those.

Gotta re stock 160 selections, might get a vid of the cool guts working, It plays them vertically, on both sides.

Know how to fix signal drift on an old tube radio? mine works but can’t quite tune down to 540 for my CBC fix

There’s a way to adjust/tune tube radios that I have a manual for somewhere, it requires an appropriate signal generator and oscilloscope to basically re-tune all the variable inductors and caps. I’ve never done it though since I don’t have an RF signal generator and my ‘scope tends to go on the fritz a lot (it’s from the early 60s - one of the first ever solid-state oscilloscopes).
If you’re just getting drift thermally (as in when it warms up you have to keep adjusting the dial) there’s so much that could contribute to it, though I’d look at capacitos first for sure. Old carbon-comp resistors are also very unstable thermally and tend to get worse with age.

this one works, but only gets CONSERVATIVE Talk radio. I’m a hippie.
